5. An Open Air Museum: The Cemetery

This place has the best mausoleums in the country. In its tombs rest poets, musicians, guerrilleros, politicians and even jewish guests.

6. The San Francisco Convent


This is one of the oldest buildings in the city.  It was founded in 1529 under the name of ‘Inmaculada Concepción by friar Toribio de Benavente from the Franciscan order.  Within its walls you can find a major part of Granada’s history. More photos here

7. An Extreme Adventure in Mombacho Volcano

Must do 7

Located only 10 km away from Granada, this volcano offers many activities for the adventurous traveler.  One of the most popular is the Canopy Tour: An unforgettable experience of sliding from tree to tree through 17 platforms and bridges securely placed on the canopies.More photos here.

8. Vigorón at The Central Park

The Vigorón has been for a long time part of the Nicaraguan typical gastronomy. It was invented over 100 years ago to be sold at the baseball stadium. It’s very popular because it’s a fast-food that can be eaten with the fingers and also because it’s easy to prepare. You’ll find the best ones in the kiosks of the central park for only $3.00 USD
